DIY skid plate for Honda CRF 300 L

on

Yes, it is horrible and will not survive any sort of remotely rougher use. I just wanted something to protect the lower part of the bike from the rock shower until I can find I proper one I like. I would prefer plastic over metal because of how the metal ones tend to resonate the engine noise.

If (and I think it`s safe assume you don’t) you want to make your own, it`s pretty easy. All you need is a sheet of plastic (I believe mine is PE), 4 bolts, washers and some spacers. Spacers are optional if you are ok with the front part resting against the frame tubes and have patience to shape and bend the rear part to meet the bolt holes.

I bolted the front on first, applied some heat to the plastic with a heat gun and bent the sheet so ot roughly followed the frame tubes.

Sorry you had to see this.
